The unique materials and cabled 'ropelike' construction combine to produce the most flexible, neutrally buoyant umbilicals available today. With no need to tape, much reduced repairs and longer life. Unlike rubber or PVC compounds used in some commercial diving hoses, Fibron uses a particularly clean unfilled polymer containing no plasticizers or potentially harmful additives. This ensures breathing air gas quality is maintained under all conditions from -40°C to 60°C. Fibron diving umbilical hoses will not deteriorate significantly with age and remain flexible and abrasion resistant, thereby easily outlasting rubber and PVC type hoses. Diving umbilicals in long, continuous lengths can be delivered. Standard lengths are 305m (1,000 ft.). Longer lengths are available upon request. A little bit of weight from the fin, not in the form of ankle weights (which will bring you legs down too low) may keep your feet in the perfect position.

The Side Block Assembly of both the BandMask® 18 and 28 receives the umbilical over the shoulder in the B configuration. They both come standard with the Tri-Valve® exhaust system, and the new BandMask® BandKeepers®. The Tri-Valve® Exhaust System has less breathing resistance than the older single valve exhaust. It retrofits to all previous Kirby Morgan BandMasks®.
